Letter from DCCC Youth Pastor

DCCC Family,

We greet you in the awesome and mighty name of Jesus our Lord and Savior!

The Young Peoples Department is excited about what God is doing in the lives of our children, youth and young adults.  But more than that, we are excited about what the future has in store for us in the year 2007.  We are already witnessing the “Evidence of things hoped for”.  We encourage you to pay close attention to these young people this year because we believe that God will manifest Himself through them like we have never seen before.

As we prepare to join the rest of our church family to “Work Together to Make the Vision a Reality”, we are reminded of the writings of Solomon in Proverbs 22:6; “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  In 2007, we will be encouraging our young people to tap into their natural ability to trust in God with all of their hearts.  We will encourage them to truly believe that nothing is impossible with God.  In fact, we believe that God is at His best when we can see only impossibilities.  Watch them as they learn to “Walk by Faith and Not by Sight.”

Our young people are excited about making their contribution as the vision of Dale City Christian Church becomes a reality.  No longer are they willing to sit back and wait for things to happen.  In the year 2007, they have committed to making things happen.  How you ask?  Well let’s take a look at a few of our happenings for this year coming year:

  • Disciples are being made in our Bible Skills, Drills, and Thrills weekly Wednesday Night Bible Study and Sunday School Classes
  • They will reach out to the community with the March Madness Basketball Tournament, Quarterly In-House Go-Go Dances with our own “New Inspiration Band”, and so much more….
  • Fellowship with us as we dress up for our Father-Daughter/Mother-Son Snow Ball on February 10th
  • The summer months are an exciting time as we evangelize through our Vacation Bible School, the Summer Revival and Children’s Jamboree
  • Our Youth Sundays are packed with praise and worship through songs, mime, steppers, and dancers
  • The Children’s Church will minister to your 6-12 year olds on 3rd and 4th Sundays at 11:00 AM
  • This year the D.I.V.A.S. has replaced the Girl Scout Troup and will touch the lives of our young girls in a special way
  • Nu Vision (The Young Adults) are studying the Word of God, working with our youth, and reaching out into the community to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate

These young people know that they can’t do it alone, but we are assured in Philippians 4:13 that “We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.”  That’s faith!!  Hebrews 11:1 tells us “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

As we have said in the past, our young people are not tomorrow’s Dale City Christian Church but the Dale City Christian Church of today.  Continue to pray for us and watch for the marvelous things—the EVIDENCE—that God will do in the lives of our young people.  “We Are Going Somewhere!”

Forever In His Service,
