Pastor Patrick O. Thomas
Senior Pastor

Pastor Patrick O. Thomas was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and is the third son of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Thomas of Williamsburg.  He was educated in the Talbot County school system. Pastor Thomas’ early years were met with many challenges; however, his deliverance came when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1984.  Pastor Thomas graduated in 1986 from Second Genesis, a substance abuse program. In 1989, he married Cassandra Lenora Brummell, and they have been blessed with three beautiful children: Jordan Patrick, Rachel Nicole, and Samuel Alexander Thomas.

Pastor Thomas joined Dale City Christian Church “Cathedral of Praise” in 1990 and was baptized by the former Senior Pastor, Bishop Carl E. Jenkins, Sr.  He was called to the Gospel ministry in June 1993, was licensed to preach in 1994, and was ordained to the ministry in 1999.  Pastor Thomas has served in ministry full-time for over 15 years.  He served as Youth Pastor from 1995 to 1998, Executive Minister from 1998 to 2000, Assistant Senior Pastor from 2000 to 2002, and in December 2003, he was voted in as Senior Pastor of Dale City Christian Church.  One of Pastor Thomas’ greatest joys in his ministry, besides serving God’s people, was serving as armor bearer to Bishop Carl E. Jenkins, Sr. for eight years in ministry.

Pastor Thomas began to prepare himself for Christian service in 1991 by completing the “Through the Bible,” curriculum at his church and receiving his certificate.  In 1993, he received a certificate of completion from the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, and in 1994, he completed Biblical Studies Courses for Pastoral Ministry from the Harvest Christian Bible College. In 1997, he enrolled in International Seminary and has received a Diploma of Practical Theology (1998), a Diploma of Practical Theology Advanced Level (1999), and received a Graduate of Theology (2000).  His goal is to complete a Doctorate Degree from International Seminary as he continues in pursuit of his studies. He is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

In 2000, Pastor Thomas was certified as a National Clinic Teacher Trainer for Evangelism Explosion International through Dr. James D. Kennedy Ministries.  Through his leadership, he has hosted six annual Evangelism Explosion National Training Clinics for Pastors and Church Leaders. Since 1998, Pastor Thomas has gone on several short-term missions’ trips to East Africa (Uganda), Central Africa, Cameroon, West Africa (Sierra Leone), and Brazil through Shalom Outreach International and the Dale City Christian Church’s Foreign Missions ministry. Pastor Thomas has received many awards for his ministerial leadership and faithful Christian service. He served as the Co-President of the Prince William County Ministerial Association from 2006 to 2008. In 2010 he was installed as Vice President of the Kingdom Building Disciples Global Ministries, Inc. (Washington, DC) under the leadership of the Presiding Bishop and CEO, Bishop Dr. Charles Hudson, Jr., and they are currently serving the people of Haiti. He is also a part of the International Communities of Christian Churches Pastoral Fellowship under the presiding Bishop, Bishop Eugene Reeves (Woodbridge, VA)

Pastor Thomas’ desire is to see people delivered and set free through Jesus Christ; and, he has committed his life to Christian service to make Jesus known to the world. He expresses his heartfelt sentiments with the words of the Apostle Paul: "I am what I am by the grace of God.  To God be the Glory.”
